The Top 15 Practices That Made the Greatest Difference on My Wellbeing Journey
Tracking my sleep (with an Oura ring) and as a result adjusting my habits.
No more alcohol consumption. Even the smallest amount of alcohol disrupts my sleep, keeps my heart rate up, not letting me recover properly.
Intermittent fasting aligned with my cycle. If you are a woman reading this, fasting can be helpful during certain parts of your cycle ( the menstrual phase and for a couple of days during ovulation) but too stressful for your body during the lutheal phase for example. Also, reverse fasting works best, and therefore skipping dinner (as opposed to skipping breakkie) as it also promotes more restful sleep and proper recovery.
Somatic (body-focused) emotional release. Literally shaking my body to let go of stress, and other stuck emotions. This was so helpful, that I'm now learning to become a practitioner- and looking for volunteers to try TRE, book here if interested.
Moving my body daily, focusing on fascia work. Foam rolling, rebounding, walking, playing, dancing.
Getting natural light in my eyes in the morning.
Blue light blocking glasses after sunset.
Drinking filtered water or mineral water in glass bottle.
Eating a balanced whole food diet of home cooked meals most of the time.
Breathwork.
Meditation.
Epsom salt baths & sauna whenever I can.
The habit of consciously working towards removing toxic things: news, certain beauty products, environmental hazards (mouldy home, toxic job) .
Resting properly. Have you heard about all the different types of rest? (physical, mental, emotional, sensory, create, social, spiritual)
Daily gratefulness.
+ 1: Sleeping with a mouth tape. Every. Single. Night.
